3 Awesome Off-Road Super C RVs

Today we’re looking at three awesome 4X4 Super C RVs.

These rigs are built to go where most motorhomes can’t – and get you there in style and comfort that you have to see to believe.

These ‘go anywhere’ luxury Super Cs differ from their van-based Class C models in that they are built on a pickup truck chassis. And while Super Cs can be built on a variety of larger International or Freightliner chassis, two of them ride on the Ford Super Duty chassis, and the third is on the Ram chassis.

That means they feel like regular pickup trucks going down the road and their 4X4 capabilities empower you to go almost anywhere a 4x4 RV could reasonably go.

Of course, there are pros and cons to the Super Cs when compared to a van-based Class C, and we’ll dive into that in this post.

There is something very special about these three in particular that makes them extremely popular. So, without further ado, let’s go take a look…

2023 Entegra Accolade XT 32U

This Entegra Accolade XT 32U made its world debut at the 2022 Hershey RV Show as a 2023 model. It features stunning black full-body paint and matching black wheels along with a steel front bumper that gives it arguably the most aggressive look of these three off-road Super Cs.

The Accolade XT 32U has Entegra’s signature true seamless fiberglass front cap with a great big windshield that lights up the inside when the shade is down.

2023 Entegra Accolade XT 32U

Even though the Accolade 32U is a gorgeous rig, it’s no pavement princess. It has a mean look and comes from the factory ready to go off-road with Ford’s F550 Super Duty chassis. It’s powered by a 6.7 liter Power Stroke V-8 Turbo Diesel engine and shifts with the glass-smooth 10-speed automatic transmission.

At 32 feet, 11 inches, this offroader is spacious on the inside and yet it’s small enough to go places that motorhomes without 4-wheel drive just can’t go due to the rough terrain. Still, with the EasyDrive Premier computer balanced suspension, it provides a comfortable ride going down the road, too.

Even though the Accolade 32U is designed to go offroad and get dirty, this is still a luxury model. The full-body paint stands out with a unique distressed look to the graphics.

As you would expect with a luxury Super C, it comes with features like a power armless awning that automatically retracts when the wind picks up. And settling in at a campsite should be quicker and easier thanks to the 360-degree camera view and auto-leveling.

The exterior is more impressive than just rugged looks. The Accolade has a nice Insignia TV and a generous storage compartment lined with durable, easy-to-clean diamond plate metal instead of the typical carpet. And on the roof, it has two air conditioners, a solar panel, and a Winegard digital antenna.

The cab has comfy seats and the familiar F-Series layout that you’d find in a Ford Super Duty. There’s a ton of leg room, so Super Cs really appeal to taller folks who don’t have enough head clearance in a van-based Class C. That said, if you have any mobility issues, climbing from the cab into the living space could be challenging. Better to exit the cab door and come back in through the side entrance.

By the way, the bunk over the cab is spacious and holds 750lbs! It lets in a ton of light and a great view by opening up the windshield power shade.

Behind the cockpit, you have a well-appointed dinette with a large TV on a televator and a wood-grain table. Another nice feature is Entegra added hinges to the storage area below the dinette seat cushions so it now offers convenient access.

Across from the dinette are the comfortable reclining theater seats. Next, the kitchen looks sharp with a solid surface countertop and a big window that also lets in a ton of light. There’s a counter extension and plenty of drawers as well. The fridge is a big residential-style unit and there’s also a pantry as well.

In the back, the bedroom is separated by a pocket door and has a good-sized wardrobe and deep drawers. The Accolade comes with a king-size bed, which is unusual in Class C motorhomes. That said, the tradeoff is the mattress stays folded up when the slides are in.

The bathroom did not pass the prime pooping position test, however, the shower is big at 30 x 36 inches.

That said, you know how we roll. While clearly the 2023 Entegra Accolade XT 32U is impressive, there are 3 things we love and 3 things we don’t like. And we just did an in-depth review about the world debut of this awesome Super C.

You can watch the full review and see the floorplan here…

2022 Thor Magnitude RS36

The 2022 Thor Magnitude RS36 has a very different look than the Accolade. Rather than a mean and rugged look, the Magnitude has a more elegant style.

Don’t let that fool you, this Thor Super C rides on the new F600 Ford chassis, which gives it a higher cargo carrying capacity than the previous F550. The F600 also makes it possible to have 4X4 capability on a longer chassis.  This is important because the Magnitude is 37’, 9 inches – 5 feet longer than the Accolade.

While it is not black or as mean-looking, the front grill of this model is a redesign for the Ford and the Magnitude also has a windshield in the seamless front cap as well.

2022 Thor Magnitude RS36

Of course, the Magnitude and the Accolade share many features because they are both built on the F-Series Ford Chassis. Both have comfy seats and a regular truck driving experience, an armless Power awning, a solar panel on the roof, two air conditioners, and a Winegard digital antenna. A feature that does stand out between the two is that the Magnitude comes equipped with an instant hot tankless hot water heater.

Unlike the Accolade, the Magnitude has an outside kitchen with a sink and a refrigerator. And this floorplan also comes with two bunk beds so you can travel with more people. The three-person sofa and the dinette also convert into beds.

The bunk over the cab has a big bed and can hold 500lbs. The headroom in the bunk is impressive, making it usable for adults as well as taller kids or teenagers. The bunk also features a good-sized TV that swivels out to face the sofa or the kitchen.

Because of the greater length of the Magnitude RS36, the bedroom has a pocket door for privacy and a king-sized bed that can be used while the slides are in – a unique feature the other two awesome Super Cs don’t have. Likewise, the Magnitude is prepped for a combo washer and dryer, another benefit of the 37’ length.

Also, thanks to the F600 chassis, you get more cargo carrying capacity. So, whether it’s people or possessions, you can bring more with you in the Magnitude. In terms of storage, another nice feature is that the top bunk bed can fold up and that space can be used as a closet.

Overall, the interior colors are fantastic and the interior is light and bright. The kitchen has a solid surface countertop and soft-close drawers and an attractive backsplash. The pantry is spacious with four deep drawers next to the GE residential-style refrigerator.

As always, there are tradeoffs. The bathroom is a bit smaller and has a radius shower and the toilet doesn’t quite pass the prime pooping position test.  The wet bay is pretty basic. And the television placement is not as ideal as a televator in the dinette would be.

And like the other Super Cs, maneuvering in and out of the cockpit takes some effort. However, when you are in the cockpit the headroom and legroom are more spacious than in a van-based Class C.

With all that said, the 2022 Thor Magnitude RS36 offers the most space of these three Super C 4x4s and we recently did a full review that you can check out below...

2022 Dynamax Isata 5 30FWD

Last but definitely not least on this list of awesome offroad 4x4 Super Cs is the 2022 Dynamax Isata 5 30FWD.

The Dynamax Isata is the number one most requested Super C for us to review on the Matt’s RV Reviews YouTube Channel. It’s so popular that it was hard to find one to walk through.

2022 Dynamax Isata 5 30FWD

The first thing you’ll notice is the Dynamax looks like a beast. Like the Accolade, it has an aggressive look. The unit we toured came had a custom black full-body paint with an adventurous mountain design by Dean Loucks that you have to see to fully appreciate.

What makes this rig different from the others is that it rides on the Ram 5500 SLT chassis. It has factory four-wheel drive and is powered by the Cummins, 6.7-liter turbo diesel engine with a six-speed transmission. At 32’, 1” it is the shortest of the three by ten inches.

This off-the-grid Super C is an absolute exploring machine at a far better price than an Overlander or an Earthroamer and the one we walked through came with the optional All Season Xplorer Package.

Like the Accolade and the Magnitude, the Dynamax Isata 5 has a seamless fiberglass front cap. While it doesn’t have a windshield in the cap, as you’ll see in the review on YouTube the ceiling height in the bunk is amazing.

The Isata 5 may look like a beast but it is not barebones when it comes to features. Like the others, there’s a wind-sensing awning and auto leveling and a TV with a sound bar outside. It comes with cameras on both sides and two cameras in the rear that allow you to see behind you and straight down.

RV LIFE Trip Wizard

Like the previous two Super Cs, the Dynamax has good storage outside with slam latch doors. However, unlike the Accolade, the Isata 5 offers a Truma instant hot water heater. On the roof are two air conditioners and a solar panel, and it comes with a 3000w hybrid inverter/charger and maintenance-free batteries.

The cockpit also feels like a regular truck though in this case a Ram instead of the familiar F-Series Ford. Like the others, it is a bit like a jungle gym to climb out of the cab and into the living area, but the head and leg room accommodates big and tall folks who can’t sit comfortably in a van-based Class C.

As for the bunk over the cab, it really is awesome. It has so much headroom that it can fit adults and tall teens. It has a 39” TV and soundbar that swivels out for living room and kitchen viewing.

The interior features modern-looking dark cabinetry that contrasts and complements the otherwise light and bright interior color scheme. The unit we walked through had cushy theater seats with Lagun tables.

This model has a good-sized dinette and the table is longer than it is wide, which means more seating room. What really stands out is the convenient storage under the seats.

The kitchen also has solid surface counters with a nice flush counter extension and the lights in the countertop are a classy touch. There’s a 3 burner suburban cooktop and big residential-style GE inverter fridge and a deep slide-out pantry.

The bathroom is unusual. It’s a long space with a huge radius shower. It has a long bathroom counter and definitely passes the prime pooping position test.

In the bedroom is a queen-sized bed that has to fold up when the slides are in. There’s a double wardrobe with cedar lining and four spacious drawers. There’s one nightstand and no headboard, so the bedroom is the smallest of the three Super Cs on this list.

There’s a whole lot more to see when it comes to the Duramax Isata 5, so definitely check out the full review below…

Which 4x4 Super C is right for you?

As always, there are always pros and cons with each model. If you’re looking to go off-the-grid and need 4x4 capability to get where you want to go, then these Super Cs offer all that and more with luxury and convenience.

How do you choose? In this post, we focused on what these models had in common and pointed out the differences. It all comes down to what you need and your preferences and budget.

Whether you’re considering the Accolade, the Magnitude, or the Isata 5, be sure to watch the full reviews on YouTube so you can see these amazing rigs inside and out. They’re powerful, luxurious, and awesome.
