World Debut of 3 Fantastic New RV Models

Tis the season for world debuts of new RV models…

And today we’re featuring 3 fantastic new RVs for 2023. Each offers something special and a breath of fresh air in its own way.

First up is a beautiful Class A from Thor…

2023 Thor Indigo

If you’re looking for a class A bunk model then this is an attractive new model to consider.

It’s a gas-powered rig that rides on a Ford chassis with the powerful and popular 7.3 liters “Godzilla” V8 engine with 350 horsepower and 468 lb-ft torque.

As mentioned, this Class A Bunk model stretches 36 feet, 9 inches. That means it’s too big for some state and national parks but big enough to transport a family around the country in comfort and style.

RV LIFE Trip Wizard

This model has beautiful full-body paint and frameless windows all around (including a little pet window in the cab).

If you’re familiar with the Thor lineup, this is a sister product to the Luminate that we reviewed recently. It’s similar to the Windsport 34J, too. So, it has the full-body paint and other amenities we’ll cover in a minute, but it’s got fewer bells and whistles than the Thor Miramar, to give you an idea of where this Thor Indigo fits in the lineup.

Some of the amenities on the exterior include the big power awning with a wind sensor and a fiberglass rear cap with a backup camera. It has slam latch doors but they are fiberglass instead of aluminum. And the storage is decent. Which is great considering you also get a TV on the outside and a kitchen with a refrigerator and a sink with a cabinet and drawer.

The Indigo has propane on board and an Onan 5,500 generator. Onan 5500 and 50 amp service and auto-leveling, as you’d expect on a Class A. motorhome So, you’re getting the fun and functional things without some of the fancier price tag items.

The hitch is rated for towing 8k but as always, know before you tow anything above 5,000 lbs. This unit has a generous 3,871 cargo capacity, so you’ll be able to haul a bunch of stuff around on your journeys.

The first thing you’ll notice on the inside is the pretty interior. When you sit in the cockpit you’ve got comfortable seats that swivel to become part of the living area. When you want to use a laptop, there’s a solid workstation tray on the dash as well. And right above you’ve got a new “Euro Loft” bunk system that holds 500lbs and comes with netting.

The grey cabinetry in the Indigo is attractive and the valences are cute and Andrea-approved, too.  And throughout the rest of the interior, you have slow-rise shades. But not in the cockpit, there you’ve got privacy curtains instead.

In terms of the living room, the jackknife sofa converts to a bed, as does the good-size dinette across from it – and the view of the TV is great. Though the TV does block a bit of the view out those windows.

The grey cabinetry continues in the kitchen with the addition of frosted glass for an elegant look. And the kitchen is well-appointed. The cabinets have adjustable shelves and good Solid Surface counter space below with a big double sink.

You get an oven and a convection microwave and a huge residential refrigerator. However, because of the size of the fridge, there is no pantry, so that’s something to consider.

Moving toward the rear, you’ve got two bunk beds and the top one flips up so the space can become a hanging wardrobe as well. There is more storage in the cabinetry in this area though the space is not deep.

The bathroom has a great big shower and plenty of cabinets and drawer space. And the good news is that the Indigo easily passed the Prime Pooping Position with ease.

There’s a sliding door to the Master bedroom for privacy. And the king-size bed has storage underneath and nightstands and a cubby space as well.

For all this, the MSRP is $217,134, though as always, your sale price should be much less.

Next up is the new Nexus Verrado…

2023 Nexus Verrado 28s

If you’re in the market for a Super C, the first thing you might notice is the 2023 Nexus Verrado 28s rides on the Chevy Silverado 4400 Chassis! That’s a first as far as we know…

And at just 28 feet long it is perfect for state and national parks. Even better, it’s got optional 4x4 capability, which means your adventures don’t have to end where the road does. Speaking of options, you can get the Verrado in a 28 ft, 30 ft, or 32 ft, so keep that in mind if you need a bit more space.

We recently checked out the Verrado 28s at Nexus with Dave Middleton, so we wanted to showcase this exciting new Super C. It’s an impressive package…

As mentioned, the Verrado rides on the Chevy chassis. It’s powered by a 6.6 liter, Duramax diesel engine with an Allison transmission with rear Air Ride. Thanks to that powertrain, the GVWR is 19,500 and the Verrado can tow an astonishing 15,000 lbs. And the cargo-carrying capacity is over 3,000 lbs.

The exciting details keep getting better. According to Dave Middleton, this Super C is 30 to 35 thousand dollars below the competition. One way they achieved those savings is to not give the Verrado an attractive graphics package on the exterior instead of full body paint. And yet, you still get a higher-end look with the frameless windows and power awning. Not only that, but the attention to detail is evident in that the graphics extend to places like the water heater cover which many manufacturers leave blank.

Plus, this rig comes with one AC unit standard (two optional) with metal ductwork.  There’s a solar panel on the roof, a 1000w inverter, and an Onan 8000 generator. Even better, the Verrado uses Azdel siding so it should never delaminate.

Super C’s are a great choice for taller folks who need more head and leg room than you typically find in an E-Series Class C.  And this model features the spacious Chevy cab and it doesn’t disappoint.  Though it is still a bit of an exercise to go from the cab into the living area. Of course, you can always go out the cab door and in through the entryway.

What you’ll find in the cab is an SUV-like dash with OnStar – a fantastic feature for convenience and safety, and a first in the industry. OnStar is great to have in an RV when you’re on the road, often in remote areas. It’s an In-Vehicle Safety and Security System that gives you advisors to contact day or night.  They’re there to help with emergencies, injuries, directions, and more.

The bunk over the cab holds 380lbs and is nice and tall so an adult can sleep up there. The TV is mounted in the bunk area and swivels out for a clear view from the sofa. And the sofa is quite comfortable. So is the dinette, and the table matches the look of the Solid Surface counters in the kitchen. The interior on the unit we reviewed has a nice bright interior called the Frost Interior with white cabinetry, though the slate color is also available.

The kitchen is a good size considering this is a 28 ft Super C. You get ample counter space, a Dometic fridge, a microwave, and a three-burner cooktop with an oven. Speaking of appliances, a nice option is that you can get a stackable washer and dryer if you want. Likewise, there are a lot of cabinets and drawers, helping to make the Verrado practical and livable.

That said, the bathroom is kinda small. The shower is 24x36 and it’s a little snug getting in around the toilet. And truth be told, the 28ft unit is not a Prime Pooping Position. And you get a queen-size bed though it is not useable when the single slide is in. Those are reasonable tradeoffs considering this 28ft model can easily get into state and national parks. If that’s a deal breaker, consider getting the larger 35ft instead because you’ll have more room in the floor plan.

All this for an MSRP of $239,000, which makes it the best-priced Super C on the market.

Last and certainly not least our World Debut lineup is an amazing Class C prototype...

2023 Coachmen Concord 321DS

This is a much-anticipated return of a popular model. The Coachman Concord is an innovative top-of-the-line Class C that hasn’t been available since about 2016.

The Concord is 32 ft, 9 inches, and looks super sharp with full body paint. It rides on the Ford E-450 Chassis with the powerful 7.3 liters “Godzilla” engine.

You’ll notice it’s not like most Class C motorhomes. It’s got a very streamlined look and the area over the cab is not the typical bunk – instead, it has an attractive windshield.  The exterior looks very high-end with chrome power mirrors and a fiberglass rear cap with a backup camera and sensors.

The storage outside is amazing and has slam latch doors. Another nice touch is the 50amp power cord is on an electric reel. The Concord comes with an Onan 4000 generator and the prototype had an Insta Hot Water Heater. And because it’s a prototype, we don’t have the cargo-carrying capacity at this time.

RV LIFE Trip Wizard

The cab of the Concord is super nice. The seats are comfortable and swivel to become part of the living area. Because there is no bed over the cab, the windshield lets in a ton of natural light. This means you have an exceptional amount of headroom when entering the living area.

The interior has a pretty Euro look to the cabinetry and there’s a ton of storage space throughout this motorhome. You get daytime and privacy shades and the valences complement the cabinets.

And the dinette is unusual for a Class C because it comes with 4 chairs. But the star of the living area is the plush sofa with power reclining seating that sits directly across from the TV.

The corner kitchen does not have a ton of counter space but it’s Solid Surface and uses the available space very well. The fridge is not huge due to its layout, but the kitchen in the prototype has a dishwasher, which is very unusual for Class C.

The bathroom continues the fancy interior design with the same Euro looks to the cabinets. The shower is a normal 24x36 though it has sliding glass doors instead of the more typical radius shower. Plus, the toilet does have a Prime Pooping Position due to the curved walls.

Across from the bathroom is another surprise, a combination washer-dryer!

The bedroom does have a king-size Tilt A-Bed, also unusual for a Class C and it’s an awesome feature.

All that said, the Concord that we reviewed was a prototype so some of these specific features may be different from production models. Likewise, we do not have an MSRP for the Concord so we can’t quote it for you here.
