Meet the Matt’s RV Reviews Team

Hello, America! Want to get to know the Matt’s RV Review Team? Here’s a quick introduction to everyone and the amazing story of how they found each other and started this awesome community of RVers…

Matt

Ever wonder what Matt did before he got into selling RVs?

He says he did a LOT of weird jobs. For example, he worked in the evenings as a beer vendor for the Washington Nationals. So, before he became world-famous for saying, “Here we go now!”, Matt said, “Cold Beer Here!” at baseball games.

Back then Matt really wanted to sell cars. But the dealerships wouldn’t hire him because he worked evenings for the Nationals and that’s when car dealerships are really busy.  As fate would have it, Matt stopped by an RV dealer and noticed that they closed at 6 pm. That gave him an idea. He could sell RVs during the day and still sell beer in the evenings. So, he applied for an RV sales job and got it. It’s now eight years later and Matt still loves selling RVs!

Mike W. was one of Matt’s first customers. He stopped by on Matt’s second day of selling RVs. Mike wanted a Tiffin diesel pusher. It’s hard to believe now, but at the time Matt didn’t know what a Tiffin or diesel pusher was. So they walked around the lot together looking for a Tiffin diesel pusher but didn’t find what Mike was looking for.

However, a month later Matt called Mike W. with good news and said, “Hey Mike, this is Matt. And I just got a Tiffin Allegro Bus.... I think it’s a diesel”. Mike scheduled a time to take a look, he liked what he saw, and Matt sold it to him!

That’s one of Matt’s favorite memories. Another favorite memory is of Mr. Mills because he worked at D.C. Metro for the same company as Matt’s dad. Mr. Mills shopped with Matt for three years to find the perfect motorhome for him and his wife! The good news is they eventually found what they were looking for.

Everyone asks Matt what his favorite kind of RV is. He always says it’s so hard to choose just one. When pressed to pick he says, “all Entegra motorhomes are my favorite.” And if you’ve watched any of Matt’s Entegra reviews, you know that’s true.

Another question Matt gets asked is what his favorite RV trip would be. For Matt that would be to go to Salt Lake City, Utah. He hasn’t spent much time there but when he did it was really beautiful.

Here are a few fun facts about Matt that not many people know:

Matt loves playing tennis. In his younger days, he made it to the Maryland state championships. True story! And he recently started playing tennis every week with Andrew Steele from the popular RVing with Andrew Steele YouTube channel

Matt’s favorite movies are Harry Potter and Star Wars. And his favorite show is Game of Thrones.

What’s Matt’s favorite thing about the Matt’s RV Reviews Channel?

The Viewers (aka, the RV Review Crew)! Matt says he’s not "TV material" and he’s not a “sales expert”. What he loves about the RV Review Crew is that the more he lets go of trying to be “professional” the channel just keeps growing. His goal is for Matt’s RV Reviews to be the perfect combination of entertainment and education for the RV community.

Andrea

Andrea met Matt 11 years ago when they were both working for the Baltimore Sun selling newspaper subscriptions. She remembers the day they met. He was young, confident, and the most talented salesperson she had ever met. Together with a group of coworkers they traveled a lot and went out to dinner after work.

Andrea noticed Matt starting to take an interest in her and remembers that he must have asked her out 10 times before she said yes. But once she did, they never looked back and she’s had the time of her life with Matt and her three daughters.

One of Andrea’s most memorable RV experiences was the first time she and Matt took an RV from Maryland to Florida at Christmastime to visit her mother-in-law. They had so much fun at Disney and West Palm Beach.

In particular, she remembers the KOA Lion Country Safari because they could literally hear and feel the lions roaring because you can hear everything through RV walls! It was an exciting first taste of the RV life as a family and they loved it.

The first time Andrea had to sell RVs was at the Maryland RV show. She had absolutely no knowledge or experience before that weekend. But she ended up selling 14 RVs anyway! How’d she pull that off? At first, she thought it was beginner’s luck. However, she was just being herself and being very transparent and honest and people want the truth and reward authenticity.

Andrea’s most memorable sale was a Class A motorhome. It was a brand new Jayco Alante 26X and she was the first one to sell it. To this day she still remembers her first customers were the sweetest couple and it was exciting to sell them that particular unit because it was brand new to the industry.

Andrea’s dream RV trip would include each and every state! This huge country has so much to offer and there are so many people to meet and memories to make. And her dream RV trip would be in a diesel pusher…

Andrea has three beautiful daughters. Her firstborn, Kayla (24), lives in Maryland, is very involved with her local church and loves to sing and play piano. She’s an esthetician and is the most outspoken and extroverted among the three daughters.

Her second oldest, Alyssa (21), lives at home with Matt and Andrea. She works part-time for Matt’s RV Reviews and will be attending pet grooming school soon. Alyssa loves animals and has always had a way with them. Andrea says that if she let Alyssa have her way they’d have more than the four furbabies they already have! Alyssa is soft-spoken and very witty.

The youngest daughter is her baby Arabella. She’s 16 and is an amazing artist and self-taught musician. She is very diligent and has a love for languages as well, which she picks up very fast. Bella is a gentle and sweet girl and Andrea feels blessed and lucky to have such amazing daughters.

About those four furbabies…

The first is a tabby cat named Ezra. About five years ago Andrea’s oldest two daughters brought him home without her permission (as most teenagers will do)! But everyone loved him so much and decided to keep him. The next furbaby is Mochi. She is a tabico rescue that Matt couldn’t say no to.

The third furbaby is the famous Yoona. They got her almost 2 years ago because her daughters wanted a puppy during Covid. She changed their lives completely and is adored by the RV Review Crew! Last but not least is the adorable Bengal cat, Yoko. She is probably their naughtiest pet. The good news is she plays well with Yoona but she gets into everything.

All four furbabies are so special and they are loved so much. Andrea says, “ I don’t know what our lives would be like without them. They complete us.”

Which is Andrea’s favorite RV? The RV Review Crew knows that answer by heart: Andrea loves Fleetwood above all!

Here’s a fun fact about Andrea that most people don’t know…

Andrea tends to be very conscientious about the world. She’s always thinking of the direction of events and conditions of people in our country and worldwide. You could say she’s a worrier. She says, “It affects me in ways that people don’t see.”

What does Andrea like most about Matt’s RV Reviews?

She says, “I’m grateful for my family and friends. And most importantly, our viewers. They are amazing people and have impacted our lives more than they know.”

And here’s a bonus fun fact: Andrea has over 100 lipsticks!

Jen

Before Matt's RV Reviews, Jen was a graphic and web designer for an e-commerce company. Her background is in design and front-end development, so it was a big change in her career when she came to Matt's RV Reviews. Now, she edits all of the videos and thumbnails for YouTube and maintains the awesome Mattsrvreviews.com website!

Jen’s favorite RV memory was their first camping trip to the Beth Page Campground in Virginia. Wil and Jen and Matt and Andrea went in two Class A motorhomes and had a blast cruising around in the golf cart, going down water slides, and cooking out on the grill!

What is Jen’s favorite RV? Jen say’s, “It has to be the Riverstone fifth wheels! They are another level of luxury and I love their floorplans with the back garage area...maybe one day!”

It’s really hard for Jen to pick just one dream RV trip so she shared her top two! The first is Alaska. She says, “Wil and I have been dreaming about taking that trip for years and stopping at lots of cool places along the way like Glacier National Park and Banff, Alberta in Canada. In fact, we may finally be doing this trip next summer...fingers crossed!”

Her second dream RV trip is New Zealand. “If you're watched the Keep Your Daydream YouTube Channel for a while, you may have seen their season in New Zealand. They rented a Class B+ motorhome and traveled around the whole country. Honestly, the whole concept of renting an RV in another country and driving around seems amazing.”

Here’s a fun fact about Jen…

Jen’s grandmother was an immigrant from Australia so she’s technically a quarter Australian! And she was one of 12 children so she has a LOT of relatives in Australia that she doesn't even know. A couple of them came to the U.S. a few years ago and Wil and Jen took them to Outback Steakhouse for dinner as a joke!

What does Jen like most about Matt's RV Reviews?

The fact that it’s four friends running this brand together! Jen says, “Not many people get to work a job with their best friends and I'm so grateful that this is our life now. We all get a lot of work done, but we also have a lot of fun!”

Wil

Before Matt's RV Reviews, Wil worked in RV sales for a little bit. However, before that, he was in real estate and did some mortgage consulting for a while. He actually still holds a real estate license and does some real estate investing.

Wil and Jen first got into RVing in 2019. They were trying to figure out their next journey in life but they weren't sure where to move. So they decided to get an RV and check out different places to eventually make their next home. They happened to go to the RV dealership where Matt worked as a salesperson.

About three months later, Wil and Jen purchased their first RV. Right before they bought their own RV, Jen started working at the dealership as the receptionist.

Wil and Jen also have famous furbabies…

Tucker was a gift to Wil and Jen on their wedding day from his parents. Tucker's a great combination of energy and loving. Wil says, “Jen and I always talk about how emotionally aware he is. If you're sad, he will come lay right next to you. If you're stressed, he will come find you and nudge you until you take a break and relax a little.”

They have two more awesome dogs, Max and Toby. Max doesn't do well in the RV so he stays home a lot. Toby used to get car sick but we broke that about a year ago. Rumor has it, Wil and Jen have a few new furbabies in their future!

What is Wil’s favorite RV experience?

It was actually before Wil really got into RVing. He says, “My very first RV trip was with a friend when I was in high school. We had such a great time and the campground was set up really well for groups. We had a set of four buddy sites and we all hung out together.”

What is Wil’s favorite RV?

Wil says, “Of course, fifth wheels are my favorite but I also really like super C's. I really like the way they drive but then they're also very roomy and comfortable.”

What is Wi’s dream RV trip?

Like Jen, Wil’s dream RV trip is to go to Alaska. He says, “It was actually one of our first big trips we were planning but that was the first year of covid so it got cancelled. Hopefully, we can make it happen next year!”

What is it about Matt’s RV Reviews that Wil likes the most?

Wil says, “I really enjoy getting to help people purchase their RVs. Also, seeing people at shows and the dealership and having them tell us the impact we've made in their life.”
