2022 Thor Tuscany 40RT
In this video, Matt and Andrea review a Class A diesel pusher. This motorhome has fantastic features and is helping Thor move up in the diesel pusher market.
Exterior & chassis
This motorhome sits on a custom Freightliner XCR chassis. It does not use propane, instead, it has an Aqua-Hot 400D hydronic heating system.
On the sides, it has huge chrome mirrors with cameras, automatic slide-out steps, a power awning above the door and another awning all the way down, frameless windows, a tv, two smaller storage spaces, and two pass-through storage bays. The tires are 295-80R22.5.
On the back, there is a 10,000-pound hitch that can actually tow 10,000 pounds, a backup camera, and an engine access compartment. On the roof, you’ll see three low-profile air conditioning units, solar, a satellite dish, and Maxxair fan covers.
Interior
Living room
In the cockpit, there is a digital dash, telescoping steering wheel, a navigation system, extremely comfortable seats with steps that level out with the floor, and huge storage cabinets above. The bunk over the cab uses a bed lift and can hold 500lbs.
The living area has beautiful matte satin cabinets above, Andrea-approved valences, daytime and privacy blinds, and amazing theater seats. Across from the theater seats are a tv elevator and a sofa that jackknifes into a bed.
In the dining area, there is another tv with a fireplace below, a pullout table with comfortable chairs, storage cabinets above and below, and solid surface countertops.
In the kitchen there are cabinets both above and below, a pull-out peninsula, a farmhouse sink, LED lights underneath, a convection microwave, a residential refrigerator, two burner induction cooktop, a dishwasher, pull out pantry, and a bunch of counter space.
Bedroom & bathrooms
The half bath has a huge medicine cabinet above the sink, extra counter space, a little bit of storage below the sink, and a PPP unworthy toilet.
The bedroom has a beautiful sliding door, a stackable washer and dryer, tv with storage behind, huge storage around, and a bunch of wardrobe space, a king bed that does have to tilt up when the slides are in, and nightstands with storage on both sides.
The full bathroom has an amazing shower with double heads and a seat inside, another smaller wardrobe, three medicine cabinets, double vanity, a tower of power, a ton of storage, and a PPP-worthy toilet.
Likes & dislikes
Likes
Matt takes the first like with the dining chairs because they're extremely comfortable.
Matt takes the second like as well with the digital dash because of how big and easy it is to see when driving.
Andrea takes the final like with the modern touches inside like the cabinetry and the valences.
Dislikes
Matt takes the first dislike with the engine access component doors because they feel cheap with the way you have to lock them.
Andrea takes the second dislike with the peninsula because it’s too heavy and tough to get in and out.
Andrea takes the final dislike as well with the jackknife sofa because it should’ve been a pull-out.
My final thoughts
Thor did amazing with this diesel pusher. The design and, as Andrea said, modernization of this motorhome is incredible. Everything seems so comfortable and homey to me.
MSRP: $562,266
